SharePoint Visitor Reports and Customer Analytics

by Intlock Team on

Knowing exactly who’s entering your company’s intranet portal or clicking onto your website is essential if you’re going to make informed business decisions. With the kind of data that most web analytics vendors provide, you can only ever get a bundled together, aggregate view of your visitors – but what if you want to take a more detailed look at your visitors? That’s where CardioLog Analytics visitor reports come in.

Alongside traditional web analytics, CardioLog Analytics offers a sophisticated, person-centered approach that takes you to a new level of richly detailed insight. Our comprehensive visitor profiles allow you to flexibly segment your visitors according to any criteria, while our visitor activity reports offer a timeline that enables you to see their online behavior at a glance and in real time. In addition, our top visitors reports can display and rank your individual visitors in a variety of ways, such as according to how many visits they’ve made or their behavioral score. CardioLog’s reports enable you to see not only the unique trends in the use of your site, but also to get a list of actual visitors, and even to hone in on specific individuals. Our drill-down reports can focus on individuals according to a wealth of different metrics, to help you understand your portal users or website visitors like never before.

See the Big Picture

To create insightful visitor profile reports, CardioLog Analytics automatically builds a comprehensive profile of each visitor to your portal or website, depicting their entire behavioral history on your site, whether during their previous sessions or on their current visit. It’s possible to collect and store data on any aspect of your visitors’ behavior on your portal or website, such as the keywords they have entered in a search engine, or details they have filled in on one of your registration forms. And data can be collected even if a visitor doesn’t authenticate into your website or portal. The visitor profiles are linked instantly to data such as the visitor’s username and email address. CardioLog Analytics also has the ability to identify the same user across several devices – whether they’re using their desktop, laptop, iPhone or iPad – giving you a rich picture of who they are and how they use your site.

In addition, it’s possible to segment your portal users or website visitors in an entirely flexible way, based on any of the criteria stored in your visitor profiles. You can search visitor profiles to identify groups of people – allowing you, for example, to get a list of visitors from New York who have visited your website at least three times and have clicked onto your product page. CardioLog’s visitor profile reports automatically collect a whole range of  information, including a visitor’s username or ID, location and operating system, as well as the date of their first visit to your site and which page they landed on. The reports also include details of how the visitor arrived at your site in the first place, how they arrived on their most recent visit, and how many conversion they have made.

Get Down to the Nitty-Gritty

CardioLog Analytics also offers you a rich insight into your visitors’ behavior, through detailed visitor activity reports. Our user-friendly activity timeline enables you to see, at a glance, an individual visitor’s entire behavioral history with your portal, website or application. The reports group an individual’s interaction with your site into visits, indicating the goals that were achieved and any new traffic sources during that visit. CardioLog’s visitor activity reports monitor individuals in real time on your portal or website, giving you instant access to valuable information and allowing you to explore your data the moment it is captured, right before your eyes.

Our visitor activity reports can also be informed by a visitor’s behavioral score. It’s possible to assign a score to each of your portal users or website visitors, based on a wide variety of criteria – from demographic information to their specific activity on your site. CardioLog Analytics offers default behavioral scoring for basic actions, such as the number of visits to your site, but our flexible tool also gives you the scope to define your own criteria, giving you a user-friendly, instant look at who your most valuable visitors might be.

Top visitors reports display a list of all visitors to your intranet portal or website, ranked, for example, by the number of pages they have looked at, their behavioral score, or the number of conversions they have made. In this way, CardioLog Analytics enables you to see, in an instant, who your most active portal users or valuable potential customers are. By default, top visitors reports include the individual’s username or ID, views, visits, onsite searches, average visit duration, plus additional columns that can be customized according to your needs – for example to include user data from Active Directory (in the case of intranet portals), or data from online forms that a visitor to your website has filled in.

CardioLog Analytics provides several drill-down reports for the individuals listed in your top visitors reports, allowing you to take a closer look at the people who use your portal or website. The reports can focus on rich information about individual visitors, such as how they arrived at your site, the trend of their visits, the amount of time they’ve spent on your site, the pages and documents they’ve looked at most often, the online searches they’ve conducted, the total number of conversions they’ve made, and more. Furthermore, with CardioLog Analytics, you can easily create your own, customized drill-down reports for individual visitors, which can include any of the many reporting widgets and metrics that CardioLog Analytics provides.

With CardioLog Analytics visitor reports, you can also:

  • Get instant notifications whenever an individual visitor enters your intranet portal or website, enabling you to interact with them in real time, in an unprecedented way. You could, for example, arrange to be alerted by email whenever a user hits a 404 error page on your portal, enabling you to immediately assist or redirect them to your help page. Or you could get an alert whenever a valuable potential customer is on your website, allowing you to reach out to them while they are actually on your site.
  • Reward employees who are active in your portal, in order to promote and encourage use of your intranet.
  • See which of your visitors are the most active on social media, and optimize the way in which you engage them. How are individual visitors interacting with your website, or intranet portal? Are they leaving comments, sharing pages on Facebook, viewing product descriptions?
  • Tackle privacy issues head on. If Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is an issue – for example, if your intranet is authenticated and the identity of your portal users is known – CardioLog Analytics includes a PII Concealment module, which hides the PII data in your analytics reports.
