The Intlock team jetted off to Stockholm, Sweden for the European SharePoint Conference (ESPC) last week, to discover an event full of interesting announcements. The event was chock full of engaging speakers and attendees, exciting sessions, and unique opportunities to check out some of the newest products offered in the SharePoint space. In fact, Microsoft announced that the SharePoint 2016 Beta 2 will be released before the end of November. Happy Thanksgiving from Microsoft!
Senior Director of Product Management for Microsoft SharePoint and One Drive, Seth Patton, kicked off the keynote to discuss the Microsoft mission, including it’s worldview and overall mission. The message was distinct: Microsoft’s goal is to empower organizations as well as individuals to achieve more, wherever, and whatever device they’re on. Whether you or your organization is using Mac, iPohone, Android or Window’s Phone, Microsoft Apps and cloud services will be there to help you improve your productivity.
Following Patton, Jeff Teper,Corporate vice president, OneDrive and SharePoint, took the stage to make the big SharePoint 2016 release announcement. He stated that Microsoft is fully dedicated to the SharePoint Server, and that SharePoint 2016 won’t be the last version of it. We can expect Microsoft to continue to invest in on-prem SharePoint as well as hybrid scenarios. Whether you’re deploying on-prem, or cloud based solutions, Microsoft is investing its energy to accommodate both equally.
